Freedom of expression and adult videogame oppression
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Freedom of expression is under threat in the name of "human rights" although the activism itself oppress human rights by trying to have censorship.

A japanese videogame containing sexual content and exported to the UK is criticized by "human rights" activists. It was criticized in the UK and Amazon decided not to sell ones.

However, Japan is the sefest contry in the world and women can go out alone at night. If such a videogame had an influence on criminal rates, the rates would be higher than actual rates in Japan.

Moreover, videogames have no human "victims." Players can be confortable without rape others. Sexuality is a human right as well as eating food and being safe. It cannot be justified that those who have a particular sexuality are persecuted by "activists" because they do not have the sexuality. What they are doing is that some people persecutes gay people because they are not gay.

Censorship in Japan

Stop Censorship in Japan!

Unfortunately, freedom of expression is under threat in Japan. As I wrote in other articles, The government and some political organisations are trying to regulate the Internet.

Even though people cannot fully control which website they take a look at, the government and other groups want to make them "criminals" due to downloading "illigal" contents. Moreover, some activists become under arrest on a holding charge for they posted antiwar flyers on a charge of unlawful entry or made a protest march on a charge of interfering with policemen in the execution of their duties. If some bills about censorship are passed, Japan may go back to Empire Japan or become a country like North Korea.

Here is some useful information about a censorship bill.

Economic Crisis and Job Seekers in Japan
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Like other countries, Japan also has economic crisis due to economic crisis in the U.S.. Many car industries and other companies lay off many labors. In Japan, social insurance is not enough for people to make a living unless they work at companies as fulltime workers. Temporary workers and laid off workers have no insurance to live in an apartment, have other living expences and go to hospitals due to faliure of law of labors.

Moreover, university students who are going to graduate from their university soon and are accepted jobs that they have applied for are canceled their jobs by companies.

As the result of the faliure of labor policies, more and more homeless people and job seekers are increasing.

Murder Case and Library Material Regulation
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

In Japan, some libraries began to refuse to access to some materials because of murder cases.

An formar assistance administrator of formar Ministry of Health and Welfare and his wife were killed and another formar assistance administrator's wife was injured. According to the media, these cases may be terrorism because of the policy of pension and scandals of Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry. The police is keeping guard at houses of working and formar assistance administrators, ministers and other top officials.

Following the police's guard and the news, some libraries began to refuse to access to books about formar MHW which contains personal information of formar top officials. Although the leader of Library Association asserted that they should not have done that in view of freedom of expression, they did so. Possibly this is because they do not want to get into trouble with the police if "the 3rd case" occurs and the murderer says that he did so after reading the materials.

The problem is that libraries in Japan do not defend freedom of expression desperatery and may buckle under pressure in the future. In this case, citizens cannot access to information about formar MHW. It means that they cannot access to some information about disputed policies. What the libraries have done is against not only freedom of expression but also fair disscussion of politics.

Freedom of Speech is under Threat in Japan
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Activists who marched in a demonstration and headed for the house of Taro Aso, Prime minister of Japan were arrested in October 26. According to the police, they were under arrest because they did not have permission to have the demonstration. However, Shizuka Kamei, a politician of Kokuminshinto Party asserted that there was no such a dangerous situation that they had to catch the activists. Moreover, the reason why they got arrested seems to be the opinions they had. The opinions were anti-war and anti-disparity. The Liberal Democratic Party, a goverment party is trying to change a disputed constitution, Article 9 that prohibits having an army and widen the income disparity. The activists criticised them. However, the government does not make changes to improve the poor's life and avoid going back to a militarist country but regulates freedom of speech by vigorous suppression.
